How to Use the Turbo Charger Compost Kit

Setting Up Your Compost System

1. Prepare Your Compost Area:
• For a compost heap, choose a well-drained area on bare soil.
• For bins or soil factories, position them on soil or grass to allow drainage and worm access.
2. Set Up the Bedding:
• Soak the bedding block in half a bucket of water for 1 hour. Once expanded, place it at the base of your system.
3. Add the Worms:
• Gently place the worms into the bedding. For active heaps, position them on the cooler side to avoid overheating.
4. Layer Your Waste:
• Alternate greens (fruit, veg scraps, Bokashi-treated waste, grass clippings) with browns (cardboard, shredded paper, straw) for optimal aeration and balance.
• Aim for 2 parts brown to 1 part green – this is usually a natural mix in manure due to the straw/manure mix

• Add Bokashi Waste: Pre-treat kitchen scraps (including meat and dairy) in a Bokashi bin, then mix it into the middle layers of your compost.
