Product Overview:

The Plastia Biowaste Container is a practical, eco-conscious solution for managing kitchen waste efficiently. Its 4-litre capacity and compact size (28.5cm depth x 15cm height x 16.5cm width) make it the perfect addition to any kitchen, whether you’re a composting pro or just starting out.

This container isn’t just for collecting scraps; it’s also designed to initiate the Bokashi composting process. By sprinkling Bokashi Bran over each layer of waste, you can start fermentation immediately, reducing odours and accelerating decomposition when transferred to your Bokashi bin or compost heap.

Crafted from post-consumer recycled plastics, including models that feature coffee grounds for added sustainability, the Plastia Biowaste Container combines style, durability, and eco-friendliness.

How to Use:

  1. Add Kitchen Scraps: Place fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds, eggshells, and other compostable waste into the container.

  2. Sprinkle Bokashi Bran: Add a small amount of Bokashi Bran with each layer of waste to start the fermentation process and control odours.

  3. Seal the Lid: Close the airtight lid to maintain a clean and smell-free environment.

  4. Transfer Waste: Once the container is full, transfer the contents to a Bokashi bin, compost heap, or outdoor composter to complete the process.

Why Choose the Plastia Biowaste Container?

This container is designed to make composting simple and accessible, especially for small households or those new to composting. Its ventilated design and airtight lid work together to minimise odours, making it ideal for everyday use.

The eco-friendly materials, including post-consumer recycled plastic, align with sustainable values, while the compact design ensures it fits neatly on your countertop without taking up too much space.

Cleaning is a breeze – wash it by hand with soapy water or place it in the dishwasher (safe up to 50°C).

Why Kitchen Composting Matters:

The average UK household produces over 200kg of food waste annually, much of which ends up in landfill, where it generates methane – a potent greenhouse gas. By using the Plastia Biowaste Container, you can:

  • Reduce Your Carbon Footprint: Divert waste from landfill and turn it into a valuable resource.

  • Improve Soil Health: Composting creates nutrient-rich material that boosts soil fertility, structure, and microbial activity.

  • Take Responsibility: Manage your kitchen waste at home and be part of the solution to global waste challenges.

Features at a Glance:

  • Capacity: 4 litres – perfect for small households or as a collection point before transferring to a larger composting system.

  • Material: Made from post-consumer recycled plastics, with select models including coffee grounds for added sustainability.

  • Design: Compact and modern, fits easily on your countertop.

  • Cleaning: Dishwasher-safe (up to 50°C) or easy to clean by hand with soapy water.

  • Dimensions: 28.5cm (D) x 15cm (H) x 16.5cm (W).
