Product Overview:

The Hedgehog Barn is the good addition to any wildlife-friendly garden. Designed to provide a safe, dry, and secure shelter for hedgehogs, this barn is ideal for nesting, resting, and hibernating. Its durable construction and predator-proof entrance ensure that your hedgehog visitors are protected year-round.

Made from high-quality, FSC-certified timber, the barn features a contemporary design that blends seamlessly into any garden. Whether you’re offering a retreat from cold weather or a safe nesting spot in spring, this barn is an essential habitat for supporting hedgehogs in your area.

Why Choose the Hedgehog Barn?

  • All-Season Shelter: Provides a safe space for hedgehogs to hibernate in winter, nest in spring, and rest during their active months.

  • Predator Protection: The specially designed entrance tunnel keeps hedgehogs safe from predators like foxes and badgers.

  • Eco-Friendly Materials: Crafted from sustainably sourced wood, the barn is built with both wildlife and the environment in mind.

  • Ventilated and Weatherproof: Keeps the interior dry and well-ventilated, ensuring a healthy environment for its occupants.

  • Stylish and Practical: Its modern design looks great in any garden while serving as a vital resource for hedgehogs.

When and Why Hedgehogs Use the Barn:

  • Winter Hibernation: Hedgehogs hibernate from late autumn to early spring. The barn provides a dry, insulated space to safely rest through the colder months.

  • Spring Nesting: In spring and summer, hedgehogs use the barn as a safe spot for raising their young, away from predators and disturbances.

  • Daytime Resting: Hedgehogs are nocturnal and need a quiet, dark place to sleep during the day. The barn provides a perfect retreat.

  • Protection from Weather: Whether it’s heavy rain or blazing sun, the barn offers year-round protection from the elements.

Product Features:

  • Predator-Proof Entrance Tunnel: Keeps hedgehogs safe from larger animals.

  • FSC-Certified Wood: Made from sustainably sourced materials for eco-friendly garden care.

  • Ventilation: Ensures fresh air circulation while keeping the interior dry.

  • Durable Construction: Built to withstand the elements and provide a long-lasting home.

  • Blends into the Garden: Natural wood finish and modern design complement any outdoor space.

Placement Tips for the Hedgehog Barn:

  1. Find a Quiet Spot: Place the barn in a quiet, shaded area of your garden, ideally near hedgerows or dense planting.

  2. Create a Natural Surrounding: Add leaves, logs, or grass clippings around the barn to make it more inviting.

  3. Avoid Disturbance: Once in use, avoid moving the barn or disturbing its occupants, especially during hibernation.

  4. Keep Away from Chemicals: Ensure the barn is far from treated lawns or pesticide use.

Wiggly Tips for Supporting Hedgehogs:

  • Provide Food and Water: Leave out meaty hedgehog food or Brambles Meaty Food alongside a shallow dish of fresh water. Never offer milk, as it can harm hedgehogs.

  • Reduce Garden Hazards: Cover drains, check for hedgehogs before using garden machinery, and create safe pathways between gardens.

  • Encourage Wildlife Corridors: Leave small gaps in fences to allow hedgehogs to roam freely in search of food and shelter.

  • Avoid Bonfires: Hedgehogs often hide in piles of wood or leaves. Check carefully before lighting any fires.
