At Wiggly Wigglers, we’re committed to eco-conscious practices at every stage of birdseed production. We grow several ingredients ourselves, source others from local farmer friends, and buy the rest from a seed merchant with whom we’ve built a trusted relationship over 30 years. Your seed is always bagged fresh to order: smaller sizes are packed in plain paper bags, which are fully compostable, and 12.55kg sizes in reusable, recyclable woven polyprop bags. This packaging approach means no extra boxes or plastic, making it a more sustainable choice for you and the environment.
- High-oil content ensures energy for birds year-round.
- Compostable plain paper bags are also great for raised bed liners.
- Bulk sizes in woven polyprop eliminate the need for extra transport packaging.
Say goodbye to messy husks and hello to cleaner feeding with our Wiggly Huskless Feed. This specially formulated blend contains only the heart of the seeds, making it highly appealing to birds and easy to manage for you. Ideal for year-round feeding, this mix can be used in hanging feeders, on tables, or directly on the ground.
Ingredients and Benefits:
- Sunflower Hearts: These are packed with oil and bursting with energy, making them highly popular among birds. Without the outer husk, they are effortless for birds to eat.
- Pinhead Oats: Whole oats cut into pieces, perfect for birds like Robins and Wrens, making them easier to feed on.
- Peanut Pieces: High in protein and fats, these are chopped into smaller pieces to reduce the risk of choking, especially for smaller and young birds.
- Cut Maize: An excellent source of carbohydrates.
- White Millet: A small, white seed preferred by Sparrows, Reed Buntings, Finches, Tits, Siskins, and Wrens due to its thin hull, making it easy to eat.
- Canary Seed: Super fine seeds that are favored by smaller birds, ensuring they have a nutritious and easy-to-consume food source.
Suitable Feeder: Hanging feeder, bird table, or ground feeding.

Q: What is the best way to offer seed mixes to garden birds? A: Use bird feeders with appropriate perches and feeding ports. Hanging feeders or tray feeders are common choices. Ensure they are kept clean to prevent the spread of diseases.
Q: Are all seed mixes the same, or do they cater to specific bird species? A: Seed mixes can vary, and some are formulated for specific types of birds. Look for mixes that suit the birds you want to attract, or choose a diverse mix that appeals to a broad range of species.
Q: When is the best time to feed seed mixes to garden birds? A: Seed mixes can be offered year-round. Providing them during winter is particularly beneficial, as birds require extra energy to stay warm.
Q: How often should I refill the bird feeder with seed mixes? A: Check the feeder regularly and refill it when it's empty or close to being empty. This ensures a continuous and reliable food source for the birds.
Q: Are there any safety considerations when feeding seed mixes to birds? A: Keep the seed mix dry to prevent mold growth. Clean the feeder regularly to maintain a hygienic feeding environment and reduce the risk of disease transmission.
Q: Can I mix different types of bird food with seed mixes? A: Yes, mixing in other bird-friendly foods like suet, nuts, or mealworms can provide a more diverse and nutritious diet for garden birds.
Q: How do I store seed mixes for long-term use? A: Store seed mixes in a cool, dry place to prevent spoilage. Check for any signs of mould or pests before refilling feeders.
